1. Who is responsible for your data

2. What data we collect

Contact and order data: name, email address, phone number, company (optional), VAT/NIF (optional, for invoicing), postal address (only when a hard-copy delivery method is chosen).
Project data: the language pair, word/page counts, deadlines and notes you provide when ordering or enquiring.
Communications: any information you send us by email, phone or the contact form.
Usage data: if you accept analytics cookies, aggregated and anonymised-where-possible usage data via Google Analytics 4 (see our Cookie Policy).

We do not collect payment card data: this website's payment step is a demonstration environment and does not process or store real card details (see our Terms & Conditions).

3. Why we process your data

To provide a quote and process an order for a translation, localisation, interpreting, transcription or proofreading service.
To communicate with you about your order, including delivery and any follow-up.
To issue invoices where requested.
To respond to enquiries submitted through the contact form.
Where you've consented, to understand website usage via analytics, to improve the site.

4. Legal basis

Performance of a contract (or steps prior to entering one) for order- and quote-related processing.
Legitimate interest for responding to general enquiries.
Consent for analytics cookies, which you can withdraw at any time (see our Cookie Policy and the "Cookie settings" link in the footer).
Legal obligation, where applicable (e.g. invoicing and accounting records).

Your data is not sold. It may be shared with:

The linguist(s) assigned to your specific order, strictly as needed to perform the service, under the same confidentiality commitment described on /about/.
Service providers who support our operations (e.g. hosting, email delivery), acting as data processors under contract.
Google, as the provider of Google Analytics 4, only if you've consented to analytics cookies.
Public authorities, where required by law.

6. International transfers

Where a service provider processes data outside the European Economic Area (for example, as part of Google Analytics infrastructure), that transfer relies on the provider's applicable safeguards (such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework or Standard Contractual Clauses). No other international transfer is made as part of providing our services.

7. Retention

We retain order and invoicing data for as long as required by Spanish commercial and tax law (generally up to 6 years for accounting records). Enquiry data not leading to an order is retained for as long as needed to respond, and deleted or anonymised thereafter unless you ask us to keep it longer. Analytics data retention follows Google Analytics 4's configured retention period.

8. Your rights

Under the GDPR and Spain's LOPDGDD 3/2018, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your data, and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, contact support@getprotranslations.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (Agencia Española de Protección de Datos, aepd.es) if you believe your data has been processed unlawfully.
